  At the turnover of 12th and 13th century arised original Stary zamek (Old Chateau), which was originally a farmstead (agricultural + residential buildings), later a gotic fortress and a castle. At the end of the 15th century, the fortress was rebuilt into a late gothic castle. In 1639 the castle was burnt out by the Swedish army and after 1648 repaired in the baroque style. At the beginning of 19th century some empire modifiactions took place. From the exposition: 10 chateau interiors mostly from 19th century, explaining lifestylo of the electors family of lords of Hanau, two permanent exhibitions explaining development of metallurgy and cast iron production in the region of Horovice.; exhibition paying attention to musical mashines, so called „automatophones“; exhibition of supernatural beings and ghosts in the chateau vaults, chateua park, etc. |
